Helium Parade Balloons
Every December in the City of San Diego a spectacular balloon parade winds down Harbor Drive. With at least 30 helium and cold-air balloons, this parade has more parade balloons than any other parade in America, probably more than any other parade in the World. The backdrop for this incredible balloon extgravaganza is the beautiful San Diego Bay, where the balloons are showcased with other giants like The Star of India (the world’s oldest active sailing ship launched in 1863), the aircraft carrier the U.S.S. Midway and usually one or two cruise ships. The parade is a precursor to the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl so there are outstanding university bands and cheer leaders, floats, drill teams, cars and horses.
